These card setups are very evenly matched in price,

but which option is better , a single 9800GX2 or

2 x 9800GTXs in SLI?

XFX 790i Ultra motherboard

2 gig DDR3 Dominator

E8500 Core 2 Duo

4 Raptor 150gigs in raid 0

The test set up is running at defult speeds.

They might only be refreshed 8800GTS's but they are so cheap to have in SLI or even 3-way SLI.

These are the XFX XXX extreme's clocked at 740@2280 so to be fair

I am clocking the 9800GX2 to the same speeds.

Pic of all four cards but i will be comparing a single 9800GX2 to the 9800GTX's in SLI

As you can see the 9800GTX SLI setup has a 5fps advantage over the single

9800GX2, which is a 15% advantage
