I have recently purchased the XFX 9800 GX2, and let me tell you its a monster of a card! First thing I notice is the weight and the size of the thing, it is encosed in a metal housing unlike the 8800 Ultra which was plastic.


There was no need to modify the 8 pin connecter which shows they got onto the problem right away.


There  are some nice touches to the card it self ,such as the LED lights when you plug the power connecters in and at the rear of the card.

3D06 Benchmark

In 3D06 the 9800GX2 scored "20251" which is nice for a single card, notice the history of other cards i have benchmarked over the years.


Crysis Benchmark Tool 1900x1200

174.70 drivers


 

Using 174.70 Beta drivers I managed an average of 23 fps and a high of 32 fps, which is a little less than I hoped but im sure it will get better as new drivers are released.
